Another Day Trip opportunity ?
There is a well attended Triumph tour the weekend before but as its Summer, Mike and Carolyn are going to the National Trust Property of Berrington Hall on the Sunday 18th August and would be delighted if any EW members wanted to join them … Looks like a wonderful old house to look around and the last of the landscaped gardens created by Capability Brown in which to take a stroll with an ice cream 😎😋.
There is of course a Cafe for lunch which if anyone is interested in joining – they suggest meeting up at the Cafe for around Midday ?
‘ Built in 1778-81 for the son of the 3rd Earl of Oxford, Berrington Hall is one of the few masterpieces of the architect Henry Holland to survive intact. The interiors are characteristic of Holland’s refined Louis XVI manner and the house is set amidst a park with an artificial 14-acre lake laid out by the landscape designer ‘Capability Brown’, who was also Holland’s business partner and father-in-law.’
Mr & Mrs Snapper loved the area and riding when on Martin s trip last year so are venturing back and stopping at The Pilgrim Hotel in Much Birch – about 7 miles NW of Ross on Wye – Some of us may be stopping over
You can add your names in the member area post if you plan to attend so that they can look out for you on the day … and of course if you want to extend your day trip, its a great part of the world to do so.
